How to Automatically Schedule and Cross-Post Your Blog Posts on Social Media

Melanie Tamblé Tutorials

FacebookTweetPinLinkedIn

Social media networks provide powerful places for promoting your blog. Sharing your post manually on each network can be tiresome and time-consuming since every network provides different options to promote your post and every community reacts differently to specific posting formats. Facebook fans love short comments but no hashtags, Tweets work best with hashtags and @handles.

Not to forget the right timing for your post. You might meet your Twitter followers at a different time as your Facebook and Pinterest followers. Tailoring your social media posts individually for each network and each community is the best way to promote your post successfully across multiple social channels. Keeping all these success factors in mind, social media marketing for your blog can keep you working around the clock.

Social media automation tools for auto-posting seem like a good solution. However, the wrong social media automation strategy can also ruin your marketing efforts.

In this tutorial, I show you how to automatically cross-share your blog posts on your social media in the best format for each network and automatically cross-schedule them for the best times to post – with minimum work and time but maximum output.

Blog2Social WordPress Plugin

Blog2Social allows to auto-post and auto-schedule as well as to individually schedule and customize social media posts directly on the WordPress dashboard. The plugin turns your blog posts automatically into an optimized format proved to work best on every social network, with an excerpt of your post in the appropriate number of characters and an image and link. The custom sharing & scheduling option displays a one-page preview editor for all selected networks to edit the suggested texts or to add personal comments, hashtags or handles.

You can also schedule your posts with a ready-to-use time set for the best times to post on each network or you can define your own time settings or edit the scheduling for each post for one-time, multiple times or recurring scheduling.

This takes less than 5 minutes for all networks because the plugin provides a simple one-step workflow for all networks and I would always recommend spending this minimal amount of extra time to tailor your posts in order to make your posts more personal and engaging. If you want to save this extra time, you can always enable the social media auto-posting to automatically share your post, when you press the publish button for your blog post.

You can share and re-share old posts or pre-schedule your evergreen content at any time and for any network from the overview dashboard of the plugin.

The plugin automatically cross-shares the posts to Twitter, Facebook (profiles, pages), Google+ (profiles, pages, groups), LinkedIn (profiles, pages), XING (profiles, pages, groups), Instagram, Flickr and Pinterest Diigo, Delicious. You can also re-publish your post on Tumblr, Medium, Torial.
