Here are some signs that your SEO company might not be doing enough for your digital campaign:
1. They Don’t Ask You for Anything
Your SEO company should be interested in what you are trying to do, and they should have a vested interest in your success. They will ask how many people visit the website, view it, where traffic comes from, and any other pertinent information that helps them understand your business better.
On the other hand, if they don’t care or never mention anything specific about this data, then chances are they’re not doing enough work on your site to help improve its rankings.
If an SEO company doesn’t want to know more about your website’s performance, then there’s a likelihood of trouble ahead. They may just be working with too many companies at once, and this may hurt your business.
2. They Have Nothing to Show
If your SEO company has no evidence of their work, it could be a sign that they’re not doing anything. If you don’t have concrete proof, then how can you know what’s going on?
Moreover, they may offer deals or discounts to get clients in the door, but there’s nothing for potential customers to see without any complex data. If an offer seems too good to be true – like 50% off when it is just $500 instead of $1000, beware. Even worse, some will use those offers as bait to charge more down the line because they think they got something for free.
3. They Can’t Share Their Techniques
If they are not willing to share their techniques with you, it is possible that they could be using spammy methods. An SEO company uses spammy tactics without getting caught by cloaking via redirects, which enables the page to appear as a whitepaper or article.
So, if your SEO company cannot talk about how it will grow traffic and increase leads, what makes them different from other overpriced marketing agencies?
4. They Have No Suggestions for Improvement
If your SEO company is not suggesting any improvements to reach even greater success, you might want to consider switching firms. If they are getting results for your business and they have no suggestions on how you can do better, chances are the firm is complacent.
However, if they aren’t improving, this could mean they aren’t pursuing the number one goal: reaching rank number one in Google search.
5. You Get a Manual Penalty
Another sign that your SEO company may not be helping you is when you get a manual penalty, meaning Google has manually penalized your website for doing something wrong. Penalizing can have disastrous effects on both rankings and traffic levels.
It could also mean any work done by an SEO firm to help improve the ranking of your site will no longer matter because the search engine giant won’t rank it in search results anymore. If this happens, it’s time to find yourself another quality SEO agency immediately.
Be wary of any SEO company that promises a quick fix. You need to do your due diligence and make sure they’re the right fit for you before signing on with them.
